Position Title:
Language Editor Consultant – Climate Change Education Materials Development

Battambang, Cambodia
Battambang Teacher Education College (BTEC), in collaboration with UNESCO Phnom Penh and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), is pleased to announce the recruitment of a qualified Language Editor Consultant to support the development of a Climate Change Education (CCE) instructional package, a PRESET module, and a CPD course under the Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI).
🔍Key Responsibilities:
- Edit and proofread Khmer and English versions of all project materials (e.g., training guides, workshop agendas, piloting tools) for clarity, accuracy, and consistency
- Translate technical content between Khmer and English, ensuring pedagogical intent and scientific accuracy
- Collaborate with TWG and consultants to refine content for cultural relevance and readability
- Provide editorial support during piloting and finalize materials based on feedback
- Conduct final language and formatting checks to meet UNESCO quality standards
- Maintain records of editorial activities and submit progress reports aligned with deliverables
🎓Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Translation, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Khmer-English translation and editing
- Familiarity with climate change, environmental education, or teacher training terminology
- Excellent attention to detail, formatting, and linguistic accuracy
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
💼Salary and Conditions:
- Remuneration based on expertise and scope of work, negotiated upon contract finalization
- Monthly payments subject to deliverable clearance by BTEC and UNESCO
